LGfL has recognised that school websites are far more important than ever, especially with recent COVID cases. In the beginning months we realised that there was a major uplift in resource usage, due to this high demand we have created a new hosting platform to cope with the new needs The platform is fully resilient, based on Debian/Apache and it is managed by our new supplier, The Positive-Internet Company.

The web hosting environment is fully resilient and hosted across two data centres with all content backed-up on a nightly basis. Schools are given control over their hosting environment via SFTP (secure file transfer protocol) and PhpMyAdmin online management interface. Alternatively, get great support from Positive internet and let them work out the technical issues.

Our platform currently running PHP 7.4 and Maria DB (latest version) these will be updated as soon as security patches are available. We support many CMS’s, but specialise in WordPress.

Backups run every night and we have platform resilience in Manchester.
