Best For You
Connecting young people and their families with the mental health support they need.
Best For You - Who is it for and why is it needed?
'The pandemic has had a catastrophic impact on the mental health of children and young people. Best For You is a new model of care to support young people and children and their families affected by declining mental health or in a mental health crisis. It is designed as an alternative to the current system, as a way of providing care and support quickly through a variety of different mediums, both in person and online.'

What are the four stands of Best For You?
'We've designed the country's first dedicated app library, so anything on that library can be recommended to children and young people by ourselves or used by yourselves as hopefully a useful tool for when children are starting to show declining mental health'
Chris Chaney - CEO, CW+
What advice would you give to teachers about how to use Best For You effectively?
'... the trick for all of us is really to prevent the escalation and the decline of mental health in young people. So if you're starting to see signs or concerns in some of your pupils, if you're starting to hear from parents or peers, they're starting to get affected in those pinch points in the academic year, around exam times, hopefully there will be tools that you can readily access that will be able to de-escalate and support those young people through those pressured times.'

What is the partnership between LGfL and Best For You?
'Our job is to try and reach as many children, as many young people, as many carers, as many families and as many professionals as we can with the work that we're doing and with the digital tools that we've put together on our platform.'
Chris Chaney - CEO, CW+
Why is MHWB everyone's responsibility when working with young people?
'We have a role to play in terms of realising that sometimes we, in our different facets of life, are often putting pressure on those young people and that they will all respond differently as individuals, and that they will respond differently to that pressure.'
Chris Chaney - CEO, CW+
Why do we need to focus on wellbeing not mental health?
'I think we need to make the conversation about mental health and not about mental health illness, but about wellbeing. Wellbeing equals prevention; and prevention is good for all of us.'
